Summer Reading List
I’m always intrigued and inspired by what’s on
people’s reading lists. Here are a few of the books
I’m either in the middle of or have recently
finished. If you’re looking for wisdom, insight and
a bit of perspective, any of these titles will
suffice.
Gandhi, An Autobiography; The Story of My Experiments with Truth.
Who knew that the Mahatma faced mortal temptations
and sometimes succumbed?
1491, by
Charles Mann. Fascinating look at the American
continents before the arrival of Columbus. For those
who thought that history began here in 1492, be
prepared to have your illusions shattered!
The Pursuit of Perfection, Ted Williams,
by Jim Prime and Bill Nowlin. The Mahatma of
hitting, revealed through the comments of those who
knew him, played against him, and stood in awe of
him.
The Lost Continent, by Bill Bryson. Travels in Small-Town America. Looks like the perfect
pool-side paperback.
Have a great summer book that you’d like to share?
My taste runs toward non-fiction, but I’m always
open to new ideas! Send me the title name, author,
and a line or two about why it’s worth reading, and
I’ll feature a few in an upcoming newsletter and on
my blog.
