Donde Esta Su Cabeza?
I just flew back from Mexico, and boy are my arms
tired! It was a bad joke 50 years ago, and just as
noxious today. After five days of rest and
relaxation in the sun and sand of Puerto Vallarta,
I’m feeling recharged both physically and mentally.
Email and voice mail went unanswered during that
short time, and my lack-of-Blackberry connectedness
to the world dimmed the prospects of reaching me to
virtually nil.
Close friends and family (who shall remain un-named)
bring their laptops and electronics galore on
vacations, the better to stay in touch during
business emergencies. I’ve often wondered what
urgent matters need to be addressed while a
margarita sits un-touched, or a grandchild wants
attention. Who do you recognize fitting these
descriptions?
Here is the
www.Dictonary.com definition of vacation:
a period of suspension of work, study, or other activity,
usually used for rest, recreation, or travel; recess
or holiday.
For further parsing, here is the definition of
suspension: The act of suspending or the
condition of being suspended, especially: A
temporary abrogation or cessation.
Get the idea? If you measure your success at work by
results, then hold the same high standards to your
vacation. Try leaving the world behind for a few
days, and marvel that the earth’s rotation continues
without you! Dedicate your drive for success to your
leisure time, and you will reap the rewards of
rejuvenation.
